FELIX AND JAMES
"Ski tuning is the alignment of the base with the edges of the ski to get the performance the ski was designed for. It's like a car, improper alignment can make it a white knuckle ride.

A well tuned ski will turn easy, has more edge control and will improve your skiing. A poorly tuned ski is unpredictable. It has a mind of it's own. You have to pay more attention to your skis than the terrain or race course. In the worst case it also can make it a white knuckle ride."

THANK YOU!

We would like to thank Nakiska and all the Volunteers that made this year's "Rides of March" so successful. There were so many things that went behind the scenes and the many hours that many contributed to this successful race. We hope these people know how much we appreciated the massive contribution. We would also like to thank all the athletes that participated in the race and also helped in many ways as well.

Thank you again from the Alberta Masters Ski Club and hope to see this much enthusiasm and commitment to making this race a great one in 2011.

We had racers travel from BC, AB, PQ, NS and NF to race in our race.  Their comments were positive and they are looking forward to returning again next year.  Thanks to everyone who assisted and participated.  We couldn't do this without you.

>>TIME NUMBERS

We now have numbers for most of the athletes but if you can look over the numbers that you punch in at the start that will be the results I post . Please register a number with coach Claudio if you don't have one.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  if the Timing Equipment is setup at the start and the finish, and you aren't inputting a number, please DO NOT go through the start wand and finish line as this impacts the timing as more than one person can be on the course at a time.

RACE NOTICES / REGISTRATION FORMS

National Card

National card means your points are reflected on a Canadian points list.  These point systems are not a handicap system, it is a method of ranking performance and start positions in each alpine discipline.  A competitor with 60 national points in slalom should be able to compete equally with any other skier of 60 points.  Noting that the points scale runs from say 0 points to 999 points it is a reverse scale where top ranked skiers have 0  points in several disciplines.  When you enter your first national points race you are assigned the highest default points in a given event. You will be seeded according to your continued performance in each event. The Canadian Masters championships and the Junior series are two good examples of national point races.
National Card athletes must be registered through the club - see Wendy Mortson if you need a card.
