ALBERTA MASTERS SKI CLUB HUSKY COMMUNITY REBATE PROGRAM

  • The Alberta Masters Ski Club is supported by Husky Energy through the Husky Community Rebate Program.  This program is a great way for our club to raise funds on an ongoing basis.

How it works is very simple.   Husky provides Rebate Program cards for the members of our club.  When these cards are presented to the attendant (or used when paying at a gas pump), Husky  provides our club with a rebate of 2% of the purchases our members make at Husky or Mohawk gas stations or Husky House Restaurants.   Husky tracks all purchases and calculates the appropriate rebate and cheques are sent quarterly to our club.  All purchases are eligible, excluding lottery tickets, gift certificates and tobacco products.

That is all there is too it.  It is a very easy way to raise funds for our programs.  Cards are available from Donnie Hrynyk.  He always keeps a supply of the cards on hand so catch up to him at any of training sessions to get yours.

SNOWFLAKES & SNOW

Snowflakes and snow crystals are made of ice. A snow crystal, as the name implies, is a single crystal of ice.A snowflake is a more general term; it can mean an individual snow crystal, or a few snow crystals stuck together, or large agglomerations of snow crystals that form "puff-balls" that float down from the clouds.
Snowflakes are not frozen raindrops. Sometimes raindrops do freeze as they fall, but this is called sleet. Sleet particles don't have any of the elaborate and symmetrical patterning found in snow crystals. Snow crystals form when water vapor condenses directly into ice, which happens in the clouds. The patterns emerge as the crystals grow. The most basic form of a snow crystal is a hexagonal prism.
